Monks, novices and lay Buddhists from all over Thailand and overseas join forces to create “global-cooling effects” on the Earth Day 22 April 2015
PATHUM THANI 22 APRIL 2015 - More than 200,000 monks and novices from every region of Thailand as well as and monk visitors from 12 countries and lay Buddhists from Thailand and overseas travelled to the Dhammakaya Temple in Pathum Thani province for a historic gathering to create “global-cooling effects” with prayer, meditation, and giving on the Earth Day 22 April 2015.
Inside the 2013 Dhammachai Dhutanga
1,128 Dhammachai Monks had been trained in the 100,00-Monk Ordination Nationwide Project and ordained correctly according to the Monastic Disciplines in the temples across the country for at least six months. Every monk determined to get rid of or lessen his defilement, greed, anger, and ignorance. When the project was over, they went to Dhammakaya Temple to continue their self-training for being the fertilized merit fields in the coming Dhammachai Dhutanga.
Offering Alms to 30,000 Temples Is to Prolong Buddhism
A participating monk gave an interviewed that he participates in this ceremony almost every year and when he saw lots of monks gathering together, he was overwhelming with joy because it showed the strength of Buddhism, so he would like to thank Luang Phaw Dhammajayo very much.
